March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day! 3-21 - to recognize the 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome! Pretty neat!
This year, as an extension of their Prayer Warrior project, Reece's Rainbow is seeking passionate people to be one child's 21.3.10 Warrior. This fundraising project will run from March 1 - 22, 2010.
Getting involved is simple: Choose ONE child with Down syndrome from the Reece's Rainbow web site and harness the POWER of FACEBOOK and your BLOG to raise grant funds for that child. RR even gives suggestions and tips on how to do this. You may not have any money of your own to donate, but your willingness to reach out to other people may save the life of a child.
And here's my favorite suggestion: "Encourage each of your friends and family to donate $21 to your chosen child and watch those adoption grants grow and grow." What a great idea!
