So, on with the show.
Here's Asher all dressed up for church, and by dressed up I mean that he has on a shirt with buttons. He looks like a little man in this picture. What a poser! Not "poser" as in a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not but "poser" as in one who poses.
And here he is chewing on the little tag on the back of his tennis shoe. These shoes didn't even make it out the door. He had to go with the Pedipeds because they stay on his feet. Why do they stay on his feet? Possibly because he got them from Santa and we have to wedge his feet into them. Hey, it's function before fashion, people. Shoes gotta stay on the feet. Don't worry. Jeff ran out and bought him some New Balance tennis shoes shortly after this incident. Jeff doesn't subscribe to my "form vs. function" rule. (This is why he always hated the velcro shoes with Winnie the Pooh on them. Very functional. Not so fashionable.)
I am happy to report that Gumbo is not starving. :) He loves to perch in this chair and look out the window. The big news for Gumbo is that he had his teeth cleaned this month. His breath is better. At least we can't see the fumes now.
Asher loves to go outside. It has been TOO hot for Mama to play outside, so we raise the blinds and let him watch Hannah Normand and Belle play soccer in the front yard. Hey - It's the next best thing to being there.
My neice, Mattie, took a lot of great pictrues of Asher and my nephew, Todd. Here's one I stole off of her facebook page to use as a profile picture.
Hannah went to cheer camp in June. She's the one in the middle. She is what they euphemistically call a "flyer," which implies that when they throw her up into the air like a ragdoll, she will suddenly sprout wings and fly away. I have learned that this is NOT what actually happens. I have also learned that closing my eyes and gasping doesn't really help matters. She is very good at it, though, and her cheer squad should have a great year.

Here she is in the middle again with her arms down smiling at the camera. She may not be ready to start the cheer, but she is always ready for her closeup.

Grandpa comes to visit when he is in town teaching at Louisiana College. Asher loves to play with Grandpa's hat!

Belle has been busy visiting friends and swimming this summer. She is only 4 inches shorter than Hannah. Where does the time go?

She absolutely adores her little brother. I am pretty sure it's mutual. :)

Asher has rediscovered the pet door. Yes, he has crawled all the way out. No, he did not fall off of the porch. Yes, we now use the pet door cover. Gumbo hates it when we forget to take the cover off...

Playing with the pet door and a dryer sheet can really wear a guy out!

Asher is going to have great hair. His stylist gives him "swoopy bangs" like Zac Efron. I guess I have to call them Justin Beiber bangs now. Of course, in this picture he is sporting what we call the bed head. He's so cute, he can pull it off. It's not so cute when I try it.

Take care and have a great week!
