follow up to yesterday's post...

My 9 year old read yesterday's post as I was writing it, and she wept. She was heartbroken and went to bed crying for Tomas. It was difficult to see her so upset; however, we are never too young to have our hearts broken for others. She said, "Well, now I know why you cry when you look at the [Reece's Rainbow] web site." She called me from school and told me that she prayed for Tomas at lunch, and she prayed for Igor (another RR orphan) all during recess.

I have always known that she is tenderhearted like her mother, and I am glad to see that God has plans for us that don't always involve rescuing dogs that no one else wants (blind, three-legged, toothless... We love 'em all!)

Asher is already changing us for the better.

You know, I don't wonder why God let this - having a child with DS - happen to us. I wonder how He could love us so much that He would do this FOR us. I mean, WHY US? Why were we chosen to be so supernaturally blessed by the Creator? He could have chosen any family for Asher, but He chose US. Wow. God IS good.
