Moratorium

I am declaring a moratorium on posts about fundraising, advocacy, etc. My daughter, Hannah, commented today that our blog is never about our family anymore. She's right. So... I am going to try to keep The Kenimer Family blog cheery and happy and light. The serious stuff can go on our Cenla Down Syndrome Association facebook page.

Sorry I have been so serious lately. It's back to my usual sarcastic, irreverent self from here on out. (Well, that's the plan... We all know how rebellious I am, and now that I have made a blog rule for myself I will soon be itching to break it. Compliance is not my strong suit.)

So, in honor of my new commitment to revelry and good cheer, here are some cheery and happy and light (and possibly amusing) pictures:


This past weekend, I celebrated my 42nd birthday! The theme was 80's. Why? Because Jeff and I were super hot in the 80's. Here we are reliving our glory days. Notice Asher's leg warmers. Belle created those!

Asher is a DIY guy just like his dad. Here he is inspecting the satellite receiver.

I'm not sure what he did, but obviously he considers it to have been a success.

Here are all my girls trying to emulate ME, the fashion goddess of the 80's. Belle had already changed into her "normal" clothes. I told Hannah, Hannah Normand, and Maegan that they had the fashion absolutely right, but we were NOWHERE near that cute back then!

What part of this photo is a dead giveaway that this was NOT taken in the 80's?

Greg, Faith, and Eli joined us for some serious MJ video time. I discovered that Hannah Normand had never seen any Michael Jackson videos except maybe Thriller. What?!?!?! We had to fix that... and a birthday party theme was born!

Yep, I still love an old-school birthday cake. Guess which piece was mine? (Hint: It's in the lower left corner of the picture.)
