Here is a rare photo of all five of us. Can you believe how tall Hannah has gotten?
Here are Hannah and " the Ash Man". Too sweet.
Here is the deceptively innocent-looking birthday cake that Aunt Pam made. It is chocolate with a can of SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK poured over it. (You can check my blog archives to read about my feelings for SCM.) Oh, and the cake is topped off with cream cheese icing. We are calling this recipe "Sugar Coma in a Pan".
Jeff had gift opening duty. Some of those packages were really tricky to open!
My family delights in giving Asher University of Alabama clothing. At least they balance it out with some Auburn attire.
Asher looks like the Birthday King surveying his kingdom. (The Little People are his subjects. Aren't we all...?)
The icing was a new experience. Aunt Pam insisted that he be allowed to stick his hands in the cake. I was afraid Jeff would hyperventilate. He cannot stand messy, food-covered babies. To him, it is not cute. It's just plain nasty.
Okay, well THAT'S cute. I don't care who you are.
Remember the name of that cake???
Even Gumbo was worn out from all of the festivities.
Oh, and speaking of firsts... Hannah went on her first DATE tonight. She let me snap a picture to commemorate the event. Well, I'm not really sure she knew that's what I was doing. She just naturally poses whenever she sees a camera. Anyway, that's her date, Jacob on the right and his big brother, Justin (a.k.a. the driver) on the left. Dinner and a movie...
I would never have guessed that we would have a first birthday and first date on the same day. Check back with me when I have a pre-kindergartener and a junior higher and a college freshman all at the same time. You'll have to look me up. I'll be too exhausted to blog.
Goodnight!
And speaking of exhausted... what a great day! :)
Goodnight!
