Do you ever wonder why you remember some things and not others? Maybe I remember the things I consider to be very important: my social security number, my kids' birthdays, the chemical formula for glucose... You get the picture.
I don't think this theory holds up, though. For example, I really don't consider the complete lyrics to "Five Minutes of Funk" to be critical information. However, after 25 years, "Five Minutes of Funk" is STILL IN THERE. All of it. Ask me. I'll rap it for you sometime.
Then there's the information that I KNOW is in there but cannot retrieve. I spent a year and a half of my college life trying to get someone - ANYONE - to sing me the theme song from "The Partridge Family". (Remember, this is before we had the internet. Yes, I am that old.) I could see the little partridges walking out during the show's intro, and I could see the Partridge family in the groovy bus, but I couldn't remember the song to save my life. (For the record, it's "Come on, Get Happy".)
By the way, can anyone out there sing me the theme song from the TV show "Land of the Lost"?
