Too precious for words!

Look at this face! This little girl is one of the many Eastern European children with Down syndrome who are in desperate need of a family to love them. Can you imagine being able to look into this face and not fall in love with her? I can't. Doesn't she look sassy? :)

Here is what her profile says about where she is currently living:

"Regrettably, this orphanage is one of the poorer ones, with very little outside aid and very little hope. All of the children are tiny and undernourished. These children are immediately transferred at 4, and have little chance of survival where they are sent. All of our waiting children need families, but these have a critical need. Please consider one of these children soon!!"

This little girl was born June 26, 2008, so she has some time, but she will probably spend most of that time alone and neglected unless someone adopts her. People in Eastern Europe, like a lot of places in the world, don't place much value on the life of a child with Down syndrome.

I can't put into words how this makes me feel. All I know is that every child is a gift from God, and He LOVES them. Just the way they are. Look at her eyes! She seems happy (and sassy!) in spite of her circumstances. I just know that she has the same contentment and joy that Asher has. I really do believe that these children are blessed and are given to the world in order to bless others. How can anyone look at her and not see that?

My prayer is that whenever you think about Asher or me or anything in any way related to us, the Holy Spirit will bring these children - this little girl - to your mind. Pray for the children in orphanage #9, which is where she lives. Please. It seems hopeless, but we all know that the Lord who created everything can bring hope to ANY situation!

Since you are already NOT getting any work done, click here to read about an amazing family. Your boss won't care. I promise. :)
