I'm baaack!

Since I have been so remiss in updating our blog, I have more updates and pictures than one blog should allow. Hence, I will update you on an event and include my favorite photo from said event. This will require great restraint and discipline on my part... so it may not happen. We'll see.

So, off we go!

Asher's ear tubes: The surgery went well, and by the time we sat down they were coming to tell us he was in recovery. I know I said I would post a picture of him all angry and irritable after the surgery, but he really didn't fuss much at all. Once again, we feel sorry for all of those other parents and their inferior babies. Here's my big man VERY early in the morning before his first (and hopefully last) surgical procedure.

(This "one picture per event" deal is for the birds. What idiot made that rule?!)

Vacation: Our vacation included several events. (I think I have found a loophole in the one picture restriction!)

Our 7th Annual Cousin Camp's theme was "The Old South", which really meant it was a celebration of all things important to our southern heritage: sweet potato biscuits, fried chicken, greens, cornbread, fresh squash, corn on the cob... you get the picture. Coincidentally, a little town down the road was having a Summer Festival that included a Civil War reenactment. Perfect! We loaded up and drove to Flat Rock, Alabama so we could take a family portrait in front of the big Confederate flag. This is the Confederate campsite. We even got to watch them shoot a cannon. Great for the small children!

After Cousin Camp, Jeff, Hannah, Belle, and I went to Atlanta for 3 days. We went to Stone Mountain, Six Flags, the Coke Museum, the Georgia Aquarium, and a Braves game. (I believe that would be five events.)

Here are Hannah and Belle in front of Stone Mountain. I also have great photos of the Jeff and the girls on the ropes course there, but, hey... you know the "rule".

We only have 3 pictures from the aquarium, and the other two are of the giant spider crabs. If you might have been wondering where everyone else besides you was on that particular day, let me help you out: they were ALL at the Georgia Aquarium and they were ALL in my way!

The Coke Museum was great - air conditioned, smaller crowds, 4-D movie, AND free Coke to sample. Granted, most of it tasted like crap, but it was FREE!

Here are Hannah and Belle at Six Flags. This picture has become a hit on my facebook because people like to play "see if you can figure out why Belle is leaning AWAY from the Green Lantern". Daffy Duck was much less creepy.

And here we are at beautiful Turner Field. The Braves won, and after the game we survived stopping for gas in the scariest place ever. So, a good time was had by all!

Here's one last picture for you to enjoy. Hannah and Asher like to play "bassinet NASCAR". Hey, it's what good ol' southern kids do for fun!

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. I think something has been fiddled with on my camera, but since I wasn't the fiddler, I have no idea how to fix it. I'll get Jeff to work on it.

I've missed you all. It's good to be back. :)
