My Christmas Angels are Russian orphans with Down syndrome who are from "Region 3." These children live in baby homes until they are four years old. When they turn four, they are moved to a mental institution and deemed "unadoptable." Most of these children do not survive the first year after transfer. Of the ones who do survive, most do not live past age ten. Please click on the link below to see the faces of the children you will help by donating.
Several of the Russian orphans on the 2009 Angel Tree are four or will be turning four soon. In fact, the child I have been praying for - Tomas - turns four this month. What should be a joyous occasion may be his death sentence. That sounds dramatic, but it is true. Please join me in praying that the Lord will continue to protect him and that someone will hug him and say "Happy Birthday."
Every penny you donate will be put into a grant fund for the adoption of these precious children. There are families WAITING to adopt a child with DS, but they can't afford it. Russian adoptions can cost as much as $25,000. Please give the gift of family this Christmas, and you just might save a life.
