Don't stop praying now!

If you have been praying for Asher, you can give witness to the power of prayer. Just read my earlier posts about his heart surgery. Prayer works... SO PLEASE DON'T STOP PRAYING NOW!

From the Reece's Rainbow website:
The Reece's Rainbow Down Syndrome Adoption Ministry was created on the principles of Christianity and the teachings of Jesus. His command to "defend the cause of the weak and fatherless" is our primary purpose and foundation. He also teaches us that prayer is a key part of our faith, that it is powerful and effective, and that our prayers are HEARD.

John 14:13-14 "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

Matthew 17:20 "I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

The Reece's Rainbow Prayer Warrior Ministry was created with three goals in mind:

1. To lift the daily needs of each waiting child up in prayer
2. To lift the ministry of Reece's Rainbow up in prayer
3. To lift the families whom God is preparing for each waiting child up in prayer

Reece's Rainbow asks for a full commitment at least until your child is home with their new family! You are asked to lift that child up in prayer DAILY: that God will provide for their daily needs, that God will prepare a family for that child, and for the work of Reece's Rainbow as a whole.

From me:
Please visit the RR website (or click on their blog button to the left) and consider praying for one of these orphans just as you have been praying for Asher. I have been humbled by the outpouring of love and concern toward our family during Asher's heart surgery experience, and it breaks my heart to think of these children - CHILDREN JUST LIKE ASHER - who need ONE person to pray for them. Will you be that person?

P.S. While you are visiting Reece's Rainbow (http://www.reecesrainbow.com/), check out the 2009 Christmas Angel Tree Project and consider giving to the adoption fund of an orphan with Down syndrome. I am sponsoring Tomas from Russia. (His picture is to the left a little further down on my sidebar.) I will be delighted if you decide to donate to his fund! He turns 4 this month, which means that he has a very good chance of being transferred to a mental institution. After transfer, he has a very good chance of NOT surviving his first year in the institution. If he does, he probably won't live past age 10. This is a precious child just like Asher who, through no fault of his own, was abandoned to a life of neglect. And what can save him? Money. Sad, but true. Please consider donating today!
