Asher went to his ENT yesterday. We thought he might have a sore throat due to allergies, but the poor little guy has thrush. The good news is that his ears have very little fluid in them and there is no infection. You know, whoever sends out the "negative things that should be going on because you have Down syndrome" memos has obviously forgotten to cc: Asher. ;) We pretty much forget about the DS until a doctor's appointment rolls around. For example, the endocrinologist made a comment about Asher being around 4 months developmentally, which really caught us by surprise. So, I decided to ignore it. (I can do that.)
By the way, Belle told me that when she moves out, she and Asher will move into one of the townhouses on Edgewood Drive here in town. I said, "Well, what if you are married and your husband doesn't want Asher to live with you?" She bowed up and said, "Oh, HE WILL." We know where her loyalties lie. She asked me if that would be close enough for me. Since the townhouses are about three miles away (maybe less?), I told her that would be okay. She loves that boy.
In all of my locust-sighting excitement, I forgot to mention that yesterday was our 18th anniversary AND Asher's 9 month birthday. Who would have EVER thought those two things could occur on the same day?! Of course, we'll be getting ready for pre-K, junior high, and college all at the same time, too. I am a time management whiz! Anyway, Jeff gave me a card thanking me for ten great years. Gotta love him.
