Asher's first play date

In early April, I met a young mother and her son in the baby aisle at Walmart. Belle noticed the little boy, Kolton, and said, "Mom! He's so cute! He looks like Asher." Sharon and I started talking and learned that both of our sons have Down syndrome. Like me, she just loves her son. When we walked away, Belle (who had been listening intently the entire time) said, "That little boy has Down syndrome, too?" How precious. She didn't see the Down syndrome. She just saw a beautiful little boy who reminded her of her brother.

Here's a great picture of Sharon and Kolton. He turned 1 in April.

Asher wasn't with me at Walmart, so he didn't get to meet Kolton that night. Today was the day! (Belle is going to be upset that she was out of town and didn't get to see Kolton again. She's at church camp in Lafayette. Maybe they'll discuss forgiveness, and she'll forgive me for going without her!)

"Hey, man. Where'd you get those socks?"

Asher seemed to find it curious that Kolton often moves from place to place BY HIMSELF. (Why would anyone want to do that when you can be HELD instead?!)

After Jaden joined the group, Asher regaled the guys with stories of his wild escapades at daycare.

Evidently Asher's stories just wore Kolton out. Jaden was moving on to bigger and better things!

I am including this picture only to prove that I was there. No, Kolton was not afraid of me or my hair!

And, just so my followers won't revolt, here's a picture of JUST ASHER looking REALLY CUTE. (You people and your needs are SO predictable!)

Until next time... :)
