The Fair. Yay.

Well, it's that time of year again: The Parish Fair is back in town. My girls LOVE the fair, and I must admit that I did, too, when I was their age. Nothing says "FUN!" like the smell of funnel cakes and corn dogs (and other varieties of meat on a stick).

Is it just me, or have the "fair people" gotten even weirder over the years? Ladies, admit it: You KNOW you had a crush on the guy who ran the Himalayan. Don't lie!! You KNOW you did. Now I look at the guy who runs the Himalayan and think, "Holy crap. Where do they find these people?!" (If some of you have family members who work at the fair, I apologize. I respect anyone who works for a living. Still, I can't help thinking that the Himalayan guys really just want to pick up young girls and score some weed.)

In our parish, everyone comes out of the woodwork (literally) to go to the fair. I nearly had an "altercation" with some high school - or possibly junior high - girl last year because she thought I was cutting in line. Evidently, she thought I could not WAIT to get on the Scrambler. In fact, she was so excited about it that she was willing to fight me to be one spot closer to nirvana. Yes, the kids hanging out at the fair have some lofty goals, people. (In case you are wondering, I did bow up to her even though she was bigger than I am.)

Speaking of bigger... here's a shot of me and Belle on the Ferris wheel at last year's fair. This was 3 weeks after Asher was born, and I thought I was SO small. I am surprised they let me on the ride since I looked, oh, 7 months pregnant.

So, tomorrow is "Date Night" (i.e. "Cheap Night") so we may take Belle to ride some rides. Hannah already has plans to go with friends, of course. Oh wait! Asher has OT tomorrow, and he obviously can't ride anything. I guess I will sacrifice and let Jeff take Belle. Maybe he'll bring me a funnel cake...

Enrique is a beast at making funnel cakes!!!
On the fair people...guh, they make God so mad!!! Preying on yougins like that!! I must say, i agree with this most with most of my heart then there's that part where Jesus says "They are made in My image like you." then I hear HannahNormand's comeback to that of "Well, I got a little more grace with mine."..HAHAH..this comment was going somewhere....but apparently it got lost on the Scrambler of my mind!!!
