So many of my friends and coworkers have asked about Asher and have told me that they are praying for him. Lydia, my sweet friend who is also a fantastic photographer, made the "Pray for Asher" pictures you see above. I promptly stole all three of them to post on here and to use as my profile picture on facebook. (She is accustomed to my thievery, and she loves me still.) Her daughter, Mary Grace, had heart surgery at Ochsner's when she was a baby, so Lydia knows what I am about to face - even before I know.
Don't you love how God sends people into your life - or back into your life - who can minister to you just when you need it most? I do.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (The Message)
All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.
