After my polar bear rant, I figured I had better say some happy things. I am a happy person, by the way, and I love my life. Just not polar bears. (Kidding, people!!)
I was looking through the updates from the blogs I follow, and the Reece's Rainbow post title caught my eye: Friday Focus on Down Syndrome ~ A Wedding! This post features a newspaper article from the Nashville area. If you need some good news, read it!

You know, I really need to expand my ideas about Asher's future. We would never limit him intentionally or discourage him from trying new things; however, when I dream about his future, I imagine him living with me and Jeff, doing what we do, depending on us for just about everything. Boy, do I have a lot to learn! The sky is the limit for Asher, just like it is for Hannah and Belle. He may take a little longer to get where he's going, but he can go whever he wants to go!
Now, let me say this... part of me is a little sad (selfishly so) that he will probably move out and do his own thing apart from me. I have secretly treasured what I thought was the fact that he would be with me forever. (According to Belle, he was always going to live with her, anyway.) Don't worry, I can handle it. If I cry when he leaves (haha - "IF?"), those will be tears of pure joy and immense pride.

Before I go, here are a couple of pictures from his birthday celebration with Jeff's family. Jean-Claude van Damme, eat your heart out!
See how "typical" he is? Give him a bunch of toys, and he plays with the wrapping.
Now, read the article and have a very happy Friday, people! Go hug a polar bear!
